Burnout is not a mindset problem. It is a neurological one.
The NEU Framework is a 14-day domain-specific burnout prevention protocol. It measures four domains of load and delivers targeted exercises based on each individual's highest-load domain.
Cognitive — working memory demand, attentional depletion, decision fatigue.
Emotional — affective labour, compassion fatigue, emotional suppression.
Motivational — erosion of intrinsic motivation, autonomy, and sense of purpose.
Relational — professional relationships, collegial trust, belonging.
Each domain is measured on a 0 to 9 scale across three severity tiers. Exercises are assigned based on individual profile, not a one-size response.
Pilot Data
Pilot 1 was completed in March 2026. Fourteen participants completed the full 14-day protocol.
Key findings: the emotional domain emerged as the primary driver of burnout among the majority of participants. Cognitive load is presented as a universal background condition.
Workload sustainability scores improved from a group mean of 6.67 to 7.78. Zero participants reported negative responses to the toolkit.
Pilot 2 is in development. Waitlist control group, psychometric validation, ethical clearance, target sample of 40 to 60 participants across six or more organisations.
